Network Monitoring Services
FatPipe Network Monitor is a unique addition to the FatPipe family of products. Network Monitor is a solution for management of network devices, such as routers, switches, servers and applications that run on them. Health and status of a network can be monitored and reported in real-time, as well as in user-scheduled reports. This software discovers switches, routers and firewalls in the network during the network discovery automatically and monitors the critical parameters such as the traffic rate, error and discards rate, buffer hits and misses and so on. An E-mail notification will be send to the administrator on higher severity events. It can be used from any place in the network or event the internet just using a web browser.
A web based network management solution that uses SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), WMI and HTTP/TCP service response to monitor hosts and network devices. Runs on a web server and FatPipe Network Monitor can be accessed by any computer with a web browser.
Key Functions
1) Device & Status view
2) Monitoring
3) Event management
4) Reporting
- FatPipe Network Monitor makes it simple for you to collect statistics of WAN devices.
- The monitoring systems then collects information from the remote systems for WAN devices such as routers, firewalls etc.
- FatPipe Networks 24 hour highly redundant network collects the information to provide monitoring support, analysis, statistics and reports.
- FatPipe monitoring systems can also be installed within the network to monitor network devices and servers or remotely monitored.
- Remote management software centrally configures, manages and monitors other FatPipe devices in remote locations.
- Enables enterprise wide deployment of distribution policies for cached content.
- Enables enterprise wide deployment of WAN access policies for traffic management.
- Add enterprise wide deployment of security policies for in and out-bound traffic.
- Able to discover the network. Just enter a router IP address or default gateway and an optional alternate community string, and will scan all devices and store it in the database. Uses the routing table of each router to scan the network.
- Scan IP range: Able to scan the network for SNMP capable devices. Just enter a range, start IP address, end IP address and an optional alternate community string, and will scan all devices and store it in the database.
- Discover devices using seed file: Able to discover the network using a seed file. Just upload the file and starts discovering and store it in the database.
- Discover monitoring capabilities: Able to discover monitoring capabilities. It will detect router or switch, Any OS or generic host and enable the right monitoring presets.
- Network info: Able to look inside a router, find routing tables and scan all attached networks. All network info per device will be stored into the database. In the device view also the current routing table can be displayed, showing routing protocol, age, next hop, metric etc.
- The system can be individually configured to collect statistics from the devices and network resources to be monitored
- FatPipe Dashboard Monitors:
- DNS and DHCP Servers
- Web Servers
- Email Servers
- Database
- JMX Servers
- Other Servers
- Network Interfaces
- Monitor Presets are used to measure all kinds of values, such as network traffic (IfOctets), Errors, HTTP Get response times, SMTP status and more. Monitor Presets can be customized and added. Monitoring groups can be created to group a logical set of hosts with monitored interfaces. Groups can be used in reporting, monitor status and realtime view. Status Monitoring can be enabled to send SNMP traps if hosts do not respond. The Node Up/Down events will be stored in the eventlog database. Using event actions, e-mail or SMS notification can be configured.
- FatPipe provides usage data for network and system resource usage
- CPU, disk and bandwidth usage
- Network usage with types of traffic,
- connections and problems
- Performance graph
- Usage analysis
- Threshold reports
- The report functions are based on HTML and can be generated any time.
- Can create customized reports.
- The system has embedded inline functions to display network traffic, eventlog, userlog and device availability in a report.
- Auto-report functionality for specific frequency using customized template.
- The Monitoring preset groups will auto discover any new device.
- For server, also the most important host processes will be detected and monitored.
- A monitoring preset is used to collect monitoring data, such as network traffic or CPU utilization.
